How many miles are you getting a week out of the Western Regional? Waiting to see if my Lease is approved and wondering what the miles are like in Western Region. Do you get more miles on 48 state per week? Schneider says you have to work 80% of the time which equates to 6 days a month off am I right on this? Any info you O/O or company drivers can give me I would appreciate it. Thanks

Nobody out there running western regoinal ?

You will have the ability to get more miles doing 48 states compared to limiting yourself to western 11. When I use to be on western 11 I had to spend numerous weekends sitting with no load because there was "no freight in my area". There most likely WAS freight in my area, but it was stuff that delivered outside of the western 11 so I was disqualified to take it. If you're looking to get maximum miles, do 48 states and get good at doing your Mac 18's and have good communication with your DBL. If you want to stay close to home then do western 11.

Can you average 2500 miles a week with 11 western? I would not mind doing 48 state but really would not like to go east of the Mississippi River. I wonder as an O/O can I run west of the Mississippi?

Averaging 2500 doing western regional would be very hard, my average was usually 1800-2000 a week and that's when I was busy. Like I said a lot depends on where you're going and what kind of loads are coming out of there once you get there. You might get a great load but then have to sit and wait because you're stuck in a place with not a lot of freight and there's two or three other Schneider drivers ahead of you waiting. As an O/O I would try to get into the choice program and pick your own loads if you can, that would be the best match for you, but I know the choice program isn't available to everyone at first

Socalchuckster, they said I had to do the mileage for a year since I will be doing the smart start lease. I should hear something this week as I sent in my budget last week but my rep went on vacation for the week. Maybe I will change to 48 then as i need at least 2500 miles a week to see a profit. Are you an O/O or company?
-
I'm company, but have had many talks with Schneider O/O at truck stops
-
Socalchuckster, have you spoken with anyone doing the smart start lease or finished one. Have been asking on this site and not getting very many responses on it. Maybe thats a bad thing.
-
All the O/O I spoke to were on the choice and never did the mileage program. It doesn't mean it's a bad thing, I think they all had prior O/O experience so they didn't do the smart lease option

Try looking at the O/O section of these forums, I remember seeing a lengthly Schneider post there about O/O's who run for big orange
blue T Thanks this.
