WOW - I never noticed that - LOL! I guess I type more than I thought

I am teaming with another company (you know which one) as a company team. We are averaging 4000-5000 mi. a week. Our dispatcher thanked us for "how hard we are running". I was like, "Really?" We should be doing 6000. They are giving us too many "solo" runs in my opinion. But what can you do?
Lady K Thanks this. -
Ya'll need to find a real team outfit.
6K should be a MINIMUM per week !!!!dixiedeadlight Thanks this. -
We are thinking about changing DM's if the miles don't pick up - however this next month is kind of a special case - we are wanting to stay on the West Coast because we are just about to become Grand Parents and want to stay near by. Our DM is working with us in regards to that, so we want to stay with her at least until she can work us in the 48 again and see how the miles go... then if they don't pick up, we will try a 'dedicated' and see if they improve there.

That would work (and that's what I thought miles wise), and it might come to that - having to leave the lease and find another company... however, we don't yet have the required and golden 1 year experience - and we don't give up easily. My last couple jobs have lasted 13 and 11 years... and we are thinking this will be our last job change until we aren't able to drive any more (15-20 years maybe??).. so IF in a year we still aren't making the miles - even with a change in DM and my 'complaining' I'm sure we will be more proactive about changing companies...123456 Thanks this.

You want to see solo miles, we average 3k a week. I think we hit 5k once or twice. 'Course, we flatbed, but y'all are making me feel lazy...
-
I think the point is that 5000 miles is not "running hard" for a team. 6000 is what makes me happy. It is not a grind, we do not sit too long and the money is good
edit....OK, I just figured out that you are a team also. Uggh, 3000 would suck
And I have never thought of any flatbedder as lazy -
You can't ask for miles and then ask to stay on the west coast. Trust me, I have been down that road with Central. From their point of view you are complaining about not getting any miles and then you are asking them to keep you confined to an area. They will not go for that and will dwindle your miles down until you quit. I have seen it happen time and time again there.

You guys have a load with four days allowance. There is a drop yard in Sacremento. You guys want to improve mileage get there as fast as you can, drop the load and go get another. There is no reason your dispatcher shouldn't allow that. I think I have found one of the problems in you guys not getting mileage.
