As long as I can remember its been 39 - which gives your wasitline a lot of lattitude.

It was on there some time ago, but removed shortly after they put it up.

BMI is mostly taken from a chart - here's an online BMI calculator...

    http://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/adult_bmi/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.html

The diagnosis for sleep apnea includes, BMI, neck size, throat restrictions, and a number of questions - its basically that a high proportion of those with sleep apnea have these characteristics. That doesn't mean that someone who is skinny as a rail doesn't have it. Did I mention that one of the areas of your life that is improved (according to reports) once you're receiving therapy for this is a better sex life? LOL! Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition, that can affect your ability to safely drive or operate heavy equipment. It's been identified as a contributing factor to a number of deadly and tragic crashes involving commercial vehicles.

If you fall within the guidelines, they'll ask you to take a sleep study - done at an onsite sleep lab, which is very convenient. It also has the great advantage of not having a 6 month waiting list like many places do. $130 for the test if you come out negative, $2000 for the test AND machine if you do have it - and as U2 pointed out, they work out a payment plan from your settlements.

And no... unlike the jerk who keeps trolling our threads tries to imply, it is a third-party sleep lab that administers the tests. Prime provides a location for the lab, but as far as I know does not receive any revenue from it.

    From the CDC website...

    Sleep Apnea

Snoring may be more than just an annoying habit - it may be a sign of sleep apnea. Persons with sleep apnea characteristically make periodic gasping or "snorting" noises, during which their sleep is momentarily interrupted. Those with sleep apnea may also experience excessive daytime sleepiness, as their sleep is commonly interrupted and may not feel restorative. Treatment of sleep apnea is dependent on its cause. If other medical problems are present, such as congestive heart failure or nasal obstruction, sleep apnea may resolve with treatment of these conditions. Gentle air pressure administered during sleep (typically in the form of a nasal continuous positive airway pressure device) may also be effective in the treatment of sleep apnea. As interruption of regular breathing or obstruction of the airway during sleep can pose serious health complications, symptoms of sleep apnea should be taken seriously. Treatment should be sought from a health care provider.
