I may have hit a snag. Does any one work for conway that is not able to drive canada. I have a clean record (no convictions) but have an arrest in mass most charges were dismissed and 2 continued without a finding.

I ran into a driver that was hired 6mos ago who can not drive there. any feed back would be good.

There is lots of discussion on this topic in the Canadian forum, so rather than start a whole new thread you may want to read what has been posted there and pick up a thread if need be.

In short, don't rely on what some other driver told you because 99% of the time they are going to be wrong or they are talking about their circumstances which may, or may not, be the same as yours.

Drivers often whine about not being let in because of a DUI conviction. My only answer is, "too bad." When requesting entry as a non-citizen/resident into a country, it is the destination country's laws that are applicable, not the laws of the country the traveler is from. Up here a DUI is considered a serious breach of public trust, but, as an example, simple possession of marijuana is not. However, the U.S. has a different viewpoint on marijuana so that is a common reason for Canadians wanting to go south to get turned around at the border.

I was on the Canada fleet when it was CFI. We loved it when drivers would come up with all different kinds of reasons why they couldn't go to Canada. Just meant that many more loads for us. Some of the reasoning I heard was just unbelievable!:biggrin_2559:
From what I understand, there is still no forcing someone to drive Canada.
But like was mentioned, some misdemeanors here, are felonies in Canada. So, you may not be able to gain entry.
