Minimum wage 9 years ago was only around $6/hr i believe. I have no problem getting my hours for a full pay. Remember i get paid from the time i leave the yard until the time i arrive. This includes the time i sleep on the road. As for US runs i get a set rate per run now which is more than the norm around where i live plus we get a refund for all of our meals.

Thats what I wanted to read
thanks

Humm challenger recently paid a driver 25$ for 8 hours for a breakdown.
is that 3,12$ an hour?
Of course to be "legal" he had to log on duty time huh, soooooo that's if your paid from the time you leave to the time you get back + all meals thats not that bad. -
If his truck was in the shop why would he log on duty?
-
Many drivers (and companies) are of the (mistaken) belief that if a driver is getting paid that they must be ON-DUTY for that period.
-
Well youre right and thats another misconception.
I wonder where it comes from?
still, break down, waste time and all you get is 25$ -
I think that $25 rate could be challenged in court. If that is what Challenger pays, there is no wonder the unions are nipping at their heels.

Not company policy being challenged, but that is below min wage and well below acceptable pay. But with attitudes like that, enjoy working for the union. Yes, working for the union, because every gain you make you will lose a piece to the union. They get rich, your wealth remains the same.
