Well I graduated from N.E.T.T.T.S of Pawtucket,RI last month and came back to NY only to find out that they wont allow me to transfer my license for six months , so im gonna just get with a company that hires out of both states so I can transfer my license after the six months is up , Im doing that so I don't waste time I can get some experience while I wait....My question is , Do companys say where you can take your time off cause I'd like to see my mother during my time off and she lives in NY ??????
They wont let me transfer my License ...

Ny won't allow it? I am going to Roehl next month and will get my cdl in WI. I am curious if I will have the same problem. Need to call DMV and my recruiter in morning. I love this forum. Food for thought.

Yes they allow but it has to be valid in the state you received it for six months before you can transfer it over . I had a pre hire for Roehl but they don't hire out of NY so I would have to quit when I transfer my Lic. which makes no sense I'm staying with whatever company i hire on to for at least a year..

Companies don't care where you take your time off at,as long there a safe place to park the rig. Most companies any way,not all are the same.

Thanks I hope the one I hire onto doesn't care...
