    Hello people
Well I finished my first week at school. So far I can say it is a pretty good experience. We have an average of 2 + hours of homework each night and I had more to do this weekend. Although I already have a Class A CDL I did gain a lot of knowledge this week. We completely covered all the material needed to pass the MVD tests along with all the endorsements. We also started covering trip planning and log sheets and recaps. We went down to MVD on Friday morning and tested. There are 5 in my class, so its nice to have that small of a class. We are taking what they call the Truck drivers course. Its an intensively crammed course that only lasts 4 weeks. We have 2 weeks class and 2 weeks road and range. I love the hours we start at 530 am and end at 2. So far my average grade is 95 overall. Hope I can keep up the pace. :D.
The instructor I have is very knowledgeable and has pretty good patience for a older gentleman. There are 2 people that have never had a CDL, One that use to drive a bus and one that says he had a cdl in California but didnt have one to give to MVD ?
The school is handling all the paperwork for my Hazmat background check and passport just need to go get fingerprinted, scanned(eyes) and have a picture taken Monday.
I am home for the weekend, and will be driving back to Phoenix tomorrow afternoon. Will post more when time permits.
    Be Safe out there!!!

If you see a Knight Refrigerated truck there, it's probably me (Monday or tuesday) I'm stopping by to drop off paperwork. I'm5'9" skinny and I wear some black framed glasses... Name's Gerard (pronounced Jared) say hi if you see me!

    Fancymcberry Thanks this.

Right on.... I'm about to call Knight and get my details. If I get done with things at a reasonable hour, I will come by today or tomorrow.

I just got ahold of Knight. I'm actually going in tomorrow 7/19 to do a road test and pick up my truck. I'll come by AIT after that.

Woot Congrats Smaggs! Ait has been great for me. I have learned a lot of things in class and look forward to starting the range next week. It is a lot more intense with this refresher course. Lots and Lots of homework and tests everyday. Did all my stuff for the passport and hazmat the last 2 days after class. Carrying a 96 in class so far. Hope I can keep it up. Have meeting at Swift tomorrow and Knight hopefully on Monday. Will have to see what happens.

aww... I bobtailed over, but didn't make it until almost 2:30pm. Oh well.. I'll try to pop on by next time I'm in town, hopefully during these two weeks. I should have home time before you guys and gal graduate. I'd like to drop a Knight form for you to read and let you all check out my truck.

Well so far I am pleased with the training I have gotten at AIT. I just finished the 2 weeks of classroom training and ended with a 97.2 AVG final. Starting Monday I will have 2 weeks of Road and range. Can hardly wait to get started. There will be 2 other students in the same group as me, so I should get plenty of time behind the wheel.
I have 3 pre-hires, but one of the companies doesn't have a female mentor so guess they won't be getting me.
The recruiters I have spoken too at Swift and Knight have been pretty helpful and of course given me all the answers I wanted to hear. Not sure where I will be going. Need to decide by the end of next week.

Go Knight... talk to Chris Brown. She's good! I get plenty of work and the training is worth your while. Tuition reimbursement is good, too!

Knight doesn't fart around. They call you for orientation and have a trainer ready for you right away, so you're not sitting at home waiting for months to hit the road. Training is over before you know it, too.
