Bates Technical College, Tacoma

I am not personally familiar with this school. But, imho, I would say that it should be one of the better school choices that you could make, because it is offered through your Technical College.

It is an awesome school! I went for orientation back in 2006 and was told that they train you for your forklift certification, all endorsements, and you even get to drive a real load to aberdeen, i believe! If your really good, you can test out of the school after 4 weeks and start working for a company! Bates instructor said that they get alot of CDS training students coming over to get the proper training they need.

 

You didn't notice this thread was last used back in Dec 2010, and the thread originated in 2009?

Thanks Otterhalf! I figured they probably graduated by now! I just wanted to post my information about the school, in case anyone else came across this!

 

I am looking into Bates but not sure about the program need to look into it for more info

 

Dont know if they are any better now, but. I had a friend who took the Bates class, about 20 years ago. He said that most of their training was done on simulators, with minimal on road driving. After graduating he still did not know how to shift, nor drive. He never got a driving job, even with graduation from Bates. He still does not drive. Dont know if they have gotten better in 20 years, hopefully they have. Just my 2 cents.
