You can idle all you want, but if you go over the prescribed idle limit each quarter you are disqualified from getting your safety bonus. I personally never got a safety bonus because I would rather sleep in comfort when it was hot out than sweat my butt of for a few extra hundred dollars each quarter.
NegativePositive Thanks this. -

Thankfully my company has apu's on it's trucks, so no need to idle

How stunningly ironic that you can be disqualified from receiving the safety bonus by engaging in an action undertaken to ensure your safety.
They should change the name of the bonus; perhaps the "Let's see how we can make our little monkeys dance" bonus would more correctly reflect its true nature.justin8842 and I am medicineman Thank this. -
i agree with you lostnfound ive been tolod by my safety dont listen to shop or dispatch cause we have had alot of execessive heat as you already know and they dispatch says turn truck off for 2 hours my response sorry im not gunna die of heat stroke

I don't even know how much the bonus is. I never get it. So I never miss it.

I never hear anything from the peanut gallery about my idle time, my DBL just b!tches at me non stop about my "overspeed". Schneider insists that it is perfectly safe to run 59 mph on the interstate where the average speed limit is at least 70. As far as a bonus goes, I've never had one the entire time I've been here.
-
59mph wow whats gov 62?

My truck actually runs 64 on the pedal but I'm not allowed to drive it that fast or I get called on the carpet by my DBL...who has only driven a cubical by the way.
