Watching IRT tonite... Hugh had to stop after tearing up 3 trailer tires on the same side. To kill some time he pulled out a SKS semi auto rifle with a bayonet on it out of his sleeper for target practice.
I thought your firearms laws were tighter than that?

im doubting that in the sticks where they are youd be lucky if theres even 1 cop within a 100 mile radius. and i doubt they would waste there time doing a truck inspection.

You can still get an SKS. I had one years ago, and was looking at one last year.
-
There's nothing stopping you from dragging around an SKS with you and letting some bullets fly down range so long as its crown land owned by the government or you have permission from the owners of said land.
... Unless there's a law directly related to carrying a firearm in a commercial motor vehicle, but i've never seen anything to support that. -
The bayonet on the other hand....
Our firearms laws are technically looser than the US, since the second ammendment only allows you to possess if you are a member of a malitia lol -
We do not have any right to bear arms in Canada. Owning firearms is a highly regulated privilege.
blktop-bucanear Thanks this. -
That's FUNNY !! When I travel into the Great White North, I'm always asked what state I live in. After hearing that my state of residence is TEXAS, they don't ask me if I own a weapon, they ask me "HOW MANY GUNS DO YOU OWN?". When I answer "None", they believe I'm lying and pull me off to the side for a cab search.
If I whip out an SKS in Texas and shoot at fireflies, I'll most certainly go to jail !! -
aint it funny how everyone in texas has guns yet they have some pretty ridiculous gun laws for being the outlaw state it once was.

Just for the record, it is LEGAL to enter Canada with a rifle inside your commercial vehicle. I have done it, and I claimed it at the border, had it looked at via cab search by the agents, and I produced the proper paperwork (CAFC 909 form) and paid the fee. This was with a .338 caliber Winchester Mag bolt action, 3 round magazine (3+1) with a 24 inch bbl.

Sure our rights may be more regulated - but they are just as free. At least we actually have the legal right to own & possess firearms.
The US has more right to carry firearms out in public, which imo, I think is stupid. Not that I want that privledge, I just don't think anyone else should either haha..
Now if you want to argue that we are more restrictive, then why do you have to be 18 to possess a longgun in the US when you only have to be 12 here?
