Was up in New York twice this week. The second time was to Baldwin on Long Island. Getting in at 0530 was easy. Getting out @ 1030 was a different story. Had to run down to Frederick Ma and I almost did not make it by 1800. Two other Mavericks truck just missed it. Not sure if they were in the same traffic Jam as I was.

From my understanding of Elogs...they limit the drivers ability to make these decisions for himself.
EOBR's are coming for sure...elogs, are not required by law. Electronic logs wouldn't be so bad if they'd leave it up to the driver to decide his own duty status (after all, the driver is the only one who knows what he is doing at any given time)
I don't know much about the elogs...but as I see it, that is gonna be their failure.Click to expand...Click to expand...Ridgerunner665, Road Boss, Flatbedder 1966 and 1 other person Thank this. -

If for instance you drive 3 minutes then stop and punch in off duty it will show that 3 minutes as off duty. The only times I hae griped about the new elogs has been the result of customers detaining me screwing my day or even possibly my week up. However Mav is in the process of fixing this,I wont go into proprietary info here but you can ask your fm and they should have the skinny. Lets just say the industry has read the writing on the wall and shippers and recievers are going to have a problem letting drivers waste time at their docks in the future. Its sad that something like e-logs had to come along to fix that problem but at least its finally goin to be resolved at last.Click to expand...
I do not have the elogs yet but sewerman does and so does sarge. They run their trucks at 57mph most of the time so they are not flying around and sewerman has no problems with the logs at all from my conversations with him. So there must be ways to work them without too many issues.Click to expand... -

You control on duty, off-duty ,sleeper berth, although you don't control drivetime. I love it don't ever want to go back to paper.Click to expand...Flatbedder 1966 and Ridgerunner665 Thank this. -
