Now im not a fan of high beams, a quick flash is annoying but tolorable. Its the ffffflllllaaaaassssshhhhh that ticks me off and i have headache rack lights for that. I turn mine off to signal. Way i was trained. I use the cb also, but try to be descriptive like come on over (flatbed/reefer/ect., color/brand of truck, company) not come on over big truck, since usually there are more than one around me.
Fyi im a rookie, been on my own for about 8 months now. My trainer was a 12 year, million mile + driver. He taught me some of the 'old school' ways of doing things. I feel bad for some of the new drivers who had a guy with 6 months exp. who really dont know **** train them. They havent been taught right, worse is they think they have been and dont try and learn from other drivers out there.
Solutions/suggestions to end the hi-beam flashing:

Pretty easy solution guys, you flash your running lights.

I usually use the on/off of my headlamp switch but I will use a high beam flash if its a situation to let another driver merge quickly, like if I'm gaining on a truck and we come up on a vehicle on the right sholder or merging and I haven't passed him/her yet.
