Has anyone heard of getting a seat belt waiver so you don't have to legally wear your seat belt while operating a CMV?

My thought is that if you have a medical condition that qualifies you for a waiver, then you'd likely need a waiver to medically qualify to drive..? Catch 22?

he doesn't happen to have it with him. My guess is he's got a waiver for his car, but I dont' think it would apply to a CMV. The sample for IA states not for use with a CMV. I'm thinking others states would be the same.

Interesting! I have a friend with a medical exemption for window tint I would like to have. Between seatbelts and window tint exemptions these cops might have to find a legitimate excuse to write me a ticket.

I get the impression we will not be offering this gentleman employment. I've been wrong before but I wouldn't hire him, company policy dictates you need to wear your seatbelt.

What is the real reason for the waiver?

I guess he's got some kind of leads coming out of his back that go to his legs? I didn't get the details.
