I am familiar with how they use the BMI index. I was speaking of how they determine if your BMI is too high. If you are muscular you can have more body weight which will raise your BMI index. You can have two people with the same weight. One works out on a regular basis and has low body fat. The other is fat and does't work out other than at the buffet. Both could be considered as having a high BMI. That is the flaw. I was not talking specifically about Prime, but the BMI itself.
FAT people are Discriminated against at prime

Bumpy 49 . maybe they all work for CHEECH & CHONG Transport .
Again supposedly the MEXICAN DOT Medical requirements are higher than the AMERICAN version they even include an aptitude test. -

I had a student who was really big. When he was in the sleeper I had to adjust the cab airbags for the cab was bumping the frame. This guy weighed 400 pounds. He even bent my top bunk. He was using a cpat machine to sleep. So they do still hire big drivers.

In order to get to this point where we are with sleep apnea, the DOT had to have suspicion. Look at all the drivers taking naps in the middle of their 14. Any DOT can look at a logbook and see a pattern. Sleep apnea = nappy time. Now they are dissecting the topic like everything else they do.
Flatbed, Mexican aptitude test? If you pick 245 tomato's in an hour, how many tomato's have you picked after working 12 hours? Or, if 26 Mexicans rent a 3 bedroom home for $600. How much does each person pay? -
Might surprise you that the MEXICANS put more into screening POTENTIAL TRUCK DRIVERS than the GREAT USA does.

Back to the issue of BMI verses sleep apnea...there are skinny people who have sleep apnea so singling out over weight people I feel is a bit unfair. I understand why there is an issue with sleep apnea so why doesn't the government just put everyone that applies for a cdl through a sleep study and be done with it instead of putting the financial burden on the truck driver. The companies need drivers and if they had to get rid of everybody that has sleep apnea they wouldn't have any drivers. I'm just sayin...

Because the vast majority of OSA patients are overweight. When people gain excessive weight, some of the fat deposits around the throat, narrowing the air passage. This is very rare in people of normal or below normal weight. However, it is fairly common in people who have more body fat than their bodies are designed to carry.
That's why normal-weight or under-weight people are not checked. -
Why is this so hard to understand.
2nd, I don't know how many times I can say this... A HIGH BMI IS JUST ONE OF THE INDICATORS THE DOCTOR USES TO MAKE DECISION ON WHETHER TO ORDER THE TEST.AfterShock and Injun Thank this. -
