(a) You must not use a CB station--
(1) In connection with any activity which is against federal, state
or local law;
The only 2 people busted in the 20 years I have worked for Public Safety agencys were busted for useing scanners in their cars to warn drug dealers. The same would apply to warning other drivers about the cops.

The 70's and 80's have come and gone. Forget about the lingo. If you attempt to use that lingo in 2011, you'll get laughed off the band. Just go ahead onto Channel-19 and try to call someone a "Good Buddy" and see what happens. Really, just talk normally like you where conversing with someone in person. Throw in an occasional 10-4 and you'll be good to go. Spend some time listening and you'll learn a bunch that way too.

QQ, go to user CP in the top tool bar, select edit avatar add url or load from source.
I prefer photobucket to upload/resize pics to avatar size.
This site chooses to be abnormal in pic size restrictions etc.gotta pay to play . . . . .[/QUOTE]
Thank you for your help on this question, I also want to thank you guys for the feed back on my CB questions. Now that I am on the road this has been a lot of help. I am glad all the lingo is gone that is for sure, makes it a lot easier!!!
Guys have a great day and drive safe!!!!!!! -
WRONG!
No Law on the books says you cant "advise" of police activity
Current personal activity is subjective if not irrelevant(speeding)
Big Trucks need all the foresight available to ensure safe travel
Being given the "heads up" will easily allow for proper adjustments aka:
proper passing clearance and or adjustments as to not hinder an LEO's duty.
Law says to slow down and or pass in the left lane
If the bacon is frying yah cant be getting close to the pan
I dont rely on bear reports personally,my V1 handles the light stuff
with near precision and thats good enough when the "Cow Truck Two Step" is engaged.

YUP .....
Like I said HERE we have seen people JAILED for using radios to warn of cops ..... Feel free to do as you please but don't advise others to follow ....4-Clover Thanks this. -
You're kidding right!!!??? What part of CB is anywhere close to what used to be legal anymore???? Not saying that is a good thing, but really!!! Cops don't care if truckers tattle on them on to other truckers. Most cops don't even run CBs anymore because of all the idiots and foul language on there. And you're talking about part 95........now that's funny!
-
The ILLEGAL use of tadios applys to all radios.
The 2 cases here ..... The people were dealing in drugs and used the radios to warn of cops It was added to other charges
Here officers CAN enforce CB rules under the premption laws ( PL 106-521. )
IF the radio is a ILLEGAL one so called EXPORT radios can be taken but THAT I have never seen happen yet. -
Just use your heads. Don't call out a bear report while you're right in front of the bear. Put a hill or two between you.
-
You hit the nail on the head there. Use a little common sense. You can give a polite bear report with out offending anybody. I don't use foul language on the radio and try to show courtesy to everybody and not offend. If I'm running a little power, which I don't much anymore though I do run export radios, I am careful how and where I use the power. It doesn't cost much to be nice and not obnoxious.
You legal beagle ham guys crack me up. I have found over the years that many of you are the biggest hypocrites of all. JMHO.4-Clover Thanks this. -
I'm shure there are legal beagal people out there let me know when you find one .....
