Kingpins are a major pain in the &%$ on the frieghtshakers too... If there is more than a few thousands (.004) of play in them replace them, it will start eatting steer tires. I used to rotate my drives, it was an all afternoon process, but it would almost always get 300K or more out of a set of drive tires, and still have a good core to trade in.

That is good at least... I still don't have a TWIC card, I have been thinking I should get one while I am off... The only bummer is I need to go all the way to Buffalo NY to get it. Fun wow!

get one when you go back to work, you'll probably go to Gary for your truck and road test and all that jazz, make an appt for the port of indiana and get your twic. 132.50 money order or credit card and life will be good. You can have it sent to another location for pick up.

PS I hated TWIC and sending my drivers in for theirs, it would be different if we had sent our drivers to ports more often.

We used to go into Baltimore alot, but with a curtain, and being a trainer, I never see a port. I kind of figured it was a waste of money. They will roll out some new program in a year anyway, so what is the point. I don't understand why they don't just do a background check when you get your CDL, then we all would be checked out, done, problem solved. Why do we need to have all of these seperate checks?
