I-10, LAX to JAX, yes, you can make money.
I-20, outside of Kent, TX to Florence, SC, per the above.
I-40, Barstow, CA to Wilmington, NC, per the above.
I-70, Somewhere in UT to New Stanton, PA, per the above.

ZippyNH made it clear there are some thangs (business issues) you need to analyze.
You need a business plan. You're planning on being another "statistic".

So I guess, I-95, 85, 75, 26, 77, etc.. it not on his routing agenda. Plus, he's based in FL.

Which is why you must also give the younger generation(males) the same advice I continue to give my grandsons--just today--just keep playing ball--it is more fun and less stressful--(just as a couple of the neighborhood girls were walking by the yard)--now grab a bat it's your turn to HIT!!
    LMAO

Easier way to understand it. I don't want to go north of I-70 east of the Mississippi River.

i don't think you're jerking off. You'll need to thouroughly investigate and determine suitable leads. Such as---produce. You may not like that because you may have run team, deal with difficult schedules, run like the wind etc.

i think these runs are out there; You just have to look in the right places. i certainly don't know where these places are right now. Do you live in the boston area or was that some innuendo concerning something else?

As a driver or an owner/operator? I assumed you meant as a driver.

Hey guys, just browsing through the thread and something caught my eye that I have been researching.....(or trying to research if i even had the first clue where to start!!!!). When mention was made of the freight lanes down 10, 20, 40, and 70 I know I havent been on the road that long and am still pretty green but I cant think of any freight that would be traveling those roads.

That kinda sounds like it doesnt make sense after I read it...what I mean is I am planning on my own truck and trailer one day soon, (always been what i wanted to do and now in doing it its the only job i have ever worked so hard at, so long, so strained and butt ##### tired but still had to push on, and have never loved any kind of work so much.) Anyway been doing a lot of research lately and one of the big questions that Ive been searching for is: What types of freight is going where, from where, for various different trailer types such as skateboards, vans, hoppers, why its moving there, the average freight rates, good, ok, bad, chapter 9:biggrin_2552:, if its more seasonal or steady, and basically everything I can to prepare myself as best I can while I slowly get my ducks in a row.

I know that is a lot of information, (believe me I want all of it I can get!) and I dont expect anybody to just drop info in my lap like a sac of potatoes, but if there is anything that Im not doing right or someplace Im not thinking of looking, I have not much info and Ive been doing a lot of searching. Can somebody please point me in another direction????

Im leaning more towards flatbed right now because thats mainly what I know other than some P&D for autozone, and Im comfortable with straps and chains all day long, tarps no problem (but its nothin pretty to look at sometimes :biggrin_25512:).

Im just seeming to run into a dead end with this one....Any help would be greatly appreciated guys...and btw if i just kinda hijacked this one sorry BJ I dont mean to step on toes or anything.
