This is different than that Atkins diet. It's a lot closer to a paleo diet, and pretty much the healthiest way one could eat.

lot off good info in here. Im still in cdl school but fitness has been a important part of my life for a few years now so Ive been thinking about what im going to do when I do get on the road. My plan is to continue eating in a intermittent style ( see leangains and eat stop eat). For exercise ill carry my TO bands, push up stands, and maybe some kind of pull up bar ( have to see how I could use it on or in a truck)

Brand new here, but have been working with drivers and health issues for many months now. I hope you've given up the really bad for you soda, and are drinking water instead. Keep it in the truck in gallon jugs, and use the full ones as dumbbells.

I drink lots of water and try to run everyday. I try to eat right while on the road and stuff. Exercise is the key.....just eating right will help you lose a little weight, but you can't just sit on your rear for 11 hrs a day and get in shape. Walk, run, ride a bike, just do something physical......break a sweat....it's the only way to lose weight and feel better.

Hi new member here, not a driver but a former truck mechanic of 21 years. Thought I'd share my story of high blood pressure and being overweight. It all began when I was injured on the job and ended up having four surgeries within a 3 month period. I found myself depressed and eating all of the time and unable to do anything but sit in my chair. Ended up reaching a weight of 315 lbs at 6' tall. My blood pressure had gone up to where I was taking 2 blood pressure medications a day and had to use a sleep apnea machine.
1 day I ran into a friend that use to be overweight and he shared with me this diet where you eat 6 times a day that's super healthy for you. So I researched what he was telling me about. On this diet I have since lost 70 lbs, I don't take blood pressure medication and I don't have to use my CPAP machine! I feel so much better with a lot more energy and the best part is that you don't have to exercise. -
Exercise equipment, I have a variety of stretch bands I take along on the job. The circle ones I use while driving. The ones with the handles while stopped some where. I also use hand springs and some times wear 3 pound leg weights

I wouldn't advocate doing any kind of exercises while driving. Unless you are running over hours, you will have plenty of downtime to work out. Keep your mind on driving when behind the wheel.

I am not a trucker, I am a School Bus Driver (CDL class B) who is considering trucking for many reasons. My concern is this: I'm a vegan, I eat lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, etc. I also drink lots of reverse-osmosis filtered water. 1.How do I carry enough refrigerated food with me on my runs? 2.Is ORGANIC produce available while on the road (so I can re-stock my supply)? 3.Are refrigerators available with enough capacity to carry food for the length of an average run? (or at least long enough so I don't have to restock very often). Please share your insights, thanks!

When my husband started trucking I worry about his health. He started off well by walking in the morning but has slacked off recently, he got bored with it he says, well reading this thread I am going to give him some other ideas to help very his routine and I hope he uses them. Thanks so much for the tips.
