Mainly because drivers are too lazy, or too resistant to change to read the manual and see the differences... I never had a problem, except when Covenant was trying to run 40k between oil changes and the ugly burning stuff started causing repeated regens while driving... got an oil change, and it stopped.
Had a Volvo 780 w/DEF... just takes a few extra steps. And the ability to get out of the stone age and quit complaining.
You might be a celadon driver! enjoy

I know. The company I work for requires the O/O's trucks be no older than 4 years. That's why I'm a company driver.
I refuse to let the idiots at the EPA dictate how much time I spend in a REPAIR SHOP getting their mandated garbage fixed at my own expense. -
Yeah ok ...................

I am just going to take it as a lesson learned. the hi heat from the discharge side of the turbo. and the new exhaust filter. left the fire off the turbo with no way to burn cooler. so. a bad story short. celadon mechanics ignored the work order set up by the manufacture technican. that was a warranty part. a turbo is about $5k now. I don't know what any one else would do. if it was me with a huge fleet of problem matic trucks. and i found that my mechainic didn't follow the manufatures work order for repair on my $140k road tractor. i'd can the mechanic and the shop manager for doing their job. in this age of trucking! it is cheaper and easier to replace office staff and mechanics. then it is to replace a driver. you have to figure. it costs close to $3k per driver to hire one. and it costs about $300 to hire office staff and mechanics. and you don't have to do a full backround investigation on office worker or mechanic.
that being said, I never wanted a brand new truck. I just simple want the one i had repaired. or put into one the was in better mechanical shape. and they wouldn't even do that. and when i turned there truck into them in april. I'm pretty sure the head was out,the injectors were out, and the turbo was dead. it was the truck could do to pull it's self back to the yard. and it was pooring kind of a gray white smoke. and it only had 330k on it. I did my job and reported everything as i went along. to the people that was put in place to handle it. and make sure the problems were fixed. and reported to the proper people. it's no my fault. they ignored the problems hoping they would disapear on there own by magic. -
Lilmay, you actually showered at the Laredo terminal? You are one brave chicky! I've only showered at Wax because they have actual locking doors on their showers. Oh and I bobtailed to Walmart and bought 2 nice fluffy towels instead of using the ones at the terminals.
I heard they closed the smoking room at Wax. If that's true, I may have to protest.

Yep I have showered at the Laredo terminal and also at wax but I also took a swim at the wax terminal lol
I ate at the Indy terminal a few weeks ago for the first time to expensive tank goodness I wasn't paying for it
Yes new trucks can break down too and Celadon will do all they can to fix it trust me -
I only eat at the cafeteria if I can't bobtail to Steak n Shake.
Hmm, wonder if I've seen you there before and we just never knew it. I'm pretty friendly and chatty with husband and wife teams or couples at the terminal. I guess I just give that "approachable" vibe.
I've heard there are some problems with the new trucks they got in with the APU backing up and leaking water. I'm thinking if/when I get a new truck next year (I've got a '10) maybe all those issues will be figured out. They look really nice though!
I'm in no hurry to get a new truck though. This one runs pretty well and any mechanical problems get fixed any time I go to the shop. -
When I was at the Wax yard 2 weeks ago it was still open. They just close the door sometimes to not bother the nonsmokers.

*whew*
I'll put down my pitch fork and torch then.wicked Thanks this. -
Every time i have been in the smoking room it is very warm, but i guess it is more comfortable than the hot texas heat huh?
