You may not know this but MOST Magnum radios are " EXPORTS" however they did make a few REAL ham radios like the HTX-10 for Radio Shack.

We have to agree to some exstent here however FETS are not bad devices MOST of the ham radios use them too. IF the new radios are having problems then the problem is more likely poor workmanship and design.

You want a real bad radio go buy a FT-100D :biggrin_25513: There are few still working the VHF/UHF FET FINALS just don't stand up .... Magnums don't even come close to their failure rate.

Wow, yup running a 25 watt am radio? That I can see. But a perfect $1,800 Yaesu FT-950 for $500? That I can't see. And by the way the FT-950 is a 25 watt AM/100 watt SSB, FM, and CW HAM radio. Hummm....just mere popcorn FARTS? I guess that was before he failed the Ham test.

Your brain is as toasted as Bruce's,this is a TRUCKING CB RADIO FORUM
Bruce takes it upon himself to continually play "MINE IS BIGGER"
Then you two widgets fall right in step and start/continue to twist what was written to suit your fictitious positions
Truck Drivers do not care about "HAM" radio's or their pompous ticket holders that force
their religion like bunch of Jehovah Witness'

I said the Magnum Raptor was a POS,as were a few of the other "RECENT"(pulled from the market) Magnum radios.
Actually the YFT 950 can be had much closer to $1600 NIB if your sources
right. Mine was purchased new without a box/documents etc from a wholesaler here in OK/TX area. SWEEEEET DEAL!!! (jealous):finger:

    Never failed the Ham test,KMV25**

    Off the Key :biggrin_25522:

KMV25** is not a Amateur radio call. That's a CB call. Where's the wholesaler's 20? So I can buy a few. And I'll help you pass your Ham test.

I do know for a fact that Yaesu, Kenwood, or Icom DOES NOT let it's products to be sold that low ($500). It has to be stolen. Or it's more of your mis-info just trying to impress. And if anyone checks with the Big 3 they will be told that there is a set price by the manufacter as to how low it can be sold. If not followed they will not be selling anymore of their products.
