During truck inspections do they frisk your body? Because if not I can just carry the gun on me on states that allow it. No one has ever spotted my gun even when I wear gym clothes. I have a nice concealed holster that doesn't leave an imprint through my clothes at all. I have conversations with the police or security guards and they don't see it when I go out.

It is really stupid that permit holders are not allowed to carry. I am a calm, rational person who will not get mad and start shooting. If I were so out of control I could grab a bat or knife and do the same thing, so it doesn't matter if I have a gun or not if I am a safe and responsible person who doesn't break the law.

Probably more because of where you run.

Carrying might work until you go to Laredo, then have to come back though the Border Patrol checkpoint....

I don't carry when I run down there, but I'd like you to be the guinea pig to see if those multi-million dollar x-ray machines can find your weapon... if you get through without a problem, let me know!

It was rare, but I delivered a load of furniture to FEMA HQ in Mt Weather, VA.. and my truck was searched both with a dog and by a guard... and they went through every nook and cranny... and I had to go through a screeing machine like the airport.

My gun would have surely been noticed, and I don't have anyone in VA that I could have left the gun with...

If you go onto military installations you will be arrested if they find it. Some use xrays, most don't. If you go into a nuclear powerplant (the most thorough search I've been subjected to) they probably will find it and you'll go to jail. More places than not prohibit you from carrying a firearm. I don't want to jinx myself, but I've never been threatened by anything on the road. I do however take the time to plan my stops and avoid shutting down in areas that might be a little scary. There's pages and pages of tips you can use to avoid being subject to criminal activity.

Be careful in New York City. They are so anal about guns that if they catch with you with one, they will confiscate it and take you directly to jail. They view anyone with a firearm as a terrorist/criminal.

Some of your eastern states and California think nothing about a criminal possessing a firearm. But you, the law abiding citizen, owning or carrying a gun. They have a total melt down.

Their thinking is; you are not entitled to protect yourself and your family with a firearm. You shoot an intruder, YOU....are the one that will go to jail. The shot intruder will get the best in medical care and a good lawyer to sue you for everything you own or ever will own.

    Hows that for justice.

So....if you have to shoot someone in self defense; leave quickly. The red tape and lawyers fees are not worth hanging around. If you do have to shoot someone in self defense....make sure they are dead. The only story you want told is your story.

A conceal carry allows you to carry and protect yourself. But when you shoot someone, your problems are just beginning. Use it ONLY as your very last resort.
