If I were on perdiem yes you actually make two pay selections: 1-perdiiem or straight pay and 2- pm or hhg. I've always been on straight pay as it suits me better. But you bring up a good point as I always thought that pm got me the extra$ for mileage bonus but it seems in the last 8 1/2 mos I've either killed 3k or just missed it and same with weeks that I ago home hitting 2k or just miss it. So "in theory" I should still make it or miss it by a little more and hoping the 2 cents will
compensate better for misses. I guess well see how close theory is to reality. 5o be continued.......![]()

Well got my first load under hhg that I've done numerous times under pm.
Eden,NC to Randolph, ma pm : 750 mi@$.33= $247.50. HHG: 709@#.35=$248.15
Woo hoo, 65 cents ahead, after tax I could get a cup of coffee in 1982. Oh wait, that's 41 cents less in safety bonus.....make that 1932but think of the interest ill make not waiting three months to get that 41 cents from bonus.
Anyway that's the first repeat. Thought id share and ill wait on more info but thought this wash fun example of 6 in one 1/2 dozen in the other.rubberducky68 and ricrey99 Thank this. -

I don't drive for Millis but have been paid by PM and HHg before. It seems that PM shorts your hub miles by about 3%, while HHG shorts hub miles by 12%. These are long term results for me.

What's the difference between HHG and Practical Route?
HHG, or Household Goods as it is known, is the standard mileage guide that Shippers and Carriers use to negotiate rates for freight. It is the shortest legal highway mileage from two points, which an 80,000 trailer may take. The calculation does not consider time as a factor, thus the route may take more driving time, but accomplish less miles. The Practical Route is the most time efficient method of driving.Practical Routes tend to be the more desirable route of travel, and also may be used for calculating Fuel Tax reporting. Both are based on a 53' trailer length and 13'6" clearances.
