Shortly after telling my dispatcher I would take any load and didn't care what or where even though I'm regional I happily got a load to Laredo yesterday around 0930.....I suppose it was worth the waiting
blktop-bucanear Thanks this. -
How does Conway feel about idling? Do they allow you to or is it limited or they let you so you can get your rest in the hot Summer or cold winter?
-
We do very good with routing and usually have very few OOR miles and we cruise at 57 to 60 when the load has time for it instead of keeping the pedal to the floor. This makes it so we can idle any time we are sitting pretty much and still have well above the company standard MPG.
I know other drivers, however, that would rather go pedal to the floor every shift but sit inside truck stops for part of their breaks instead of sitting in the truck idling.
There are many ways to make it workblktop-bucanear and vmaggs Thank this. -
Hey everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around much lately (again).
This time I left my phone at the Love's in Tupelo, MS and since I usually post from my phone alot, I haven't been on much. Thankfully Love's is mailing my phone home but I still probably won't have it for atleast 3 to 4 weeks.
We are currently in NC parked at a Wal-Mart waiting to pick up a load in the morning just down the road.
We haven't ran well this past week at all
We had a load that didn't deliver until Tuesday that carried over from last week. Then we got a 700 miles run up to PA. Then they put another 700 mile run on us but we had to get it taken off because some idiot at the Flying J in Carlisle tried to take our mirror off with his tail swing when he left the parking space next to us. The KW was only 2 miles away so we limped there with the mirror duct taped together so we could kinda see. Then when we got there we found out the couldnt even see us until the next day sometime (and it was mid-morning at the time). So we got a hotel for a night. They got us done mid-afternoon on thursday and we sat until friday afternoon where we got a 355 mile run down here to NC. We delivered that early early this morning and now we have to sit until tomorrow at 5 am to pick up our next load. This check will have an abysmal 1100 miles or so on it
I really hope next week turns out better....
Hope you all are well!

I'm on another 34 hour + reset that I don't need again. Three straight weekends now I've been left baby-sitting this truck at no or very low miles. If I don't stick with OTR very long It'll be due to the lack of miles.
vmaggs, Katey and blktop-bucanear Thank this. -

I just got down here to Laredo with our first load, was suppose to be just a drop but we're number 75 and they said to wait and deliver load tomorrow then see what available. Hopefully it'll be a good load

Finally scored a good run after chatting with my FM. Got a run from upstate NY to the Seattle area. Taking 1st break about an hour east of Cleveland so I can hit Cleveland about 04:00 and Chicago around 10:00.
blktop-bucanear Thanks this.
