Zip ties & bailing wire work just fine for holding on fenders.:biggrin_25522:

Not on a truck I'm driving... I just can't keep a straight face, roling through the scale like nothing's wrong.

There ain't anything wrong with it. My zip ties have a 175# break strength, and there are 5 of them holding the front of the fender...and they are on there because I wasn't happy with the bailing wire (which is still on there)...it (the bailing wire) held, but it was loose and vibrating, wearing the fender, which was causing it to loosen even more.

It has been like that since I blew an airbag and had to limp to Mack for another one. One fender was mounted just a LITTLE too close to the tires, and was rubbing. Rather than blow out a tire or have a tire fire, I unbolted the front of the fender to prop it up on top of the bracket, rather than beneath it....but in the process, 2 of the 4 bolts snapped off.

So, until I get around to drilling out those 2 bolts and re-tapping the holes, or buying another bracket ($70), it is what it is. It passed it's annual inspection like that, and I've been pulled over 3 or 4 times without a single mention of it. It is also on the side of the truck facing most scale house windows, and they have never said anything about it either.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a non-issue. The securement device being used far exceeds the weight of the piece of equipment being secured. In other words, it ain't going anywhere.

Right, in that situation, I understand... I'm talking about a million mile truk that only gets it oil changed, only fixed when something major breaks, or they get stopped and cited...

They just don't understand, or don't give a crap about preventive maintenance, repairing stuff before you get stopped, or driving safely... like with clear headlights and an uncracked windshield.

AND JUST TODAY THE REPUBLICANS VOTED not to increase taxes to corporation by getting rid of loopholes so who is "we" ???? So I gather "we" is the average American worker would pay all the taxes because you say that ,"so that we no longer have corporate tax".

Corporations do not pay taxes. They have people who calculate what their tax liability will be for the year and they include that in their expenses which are passed on to the consumer. Raise corporate taxes and consumer prices go up. Raise oil company taxes and pump prices will go up.

If you think for one minute that raising "corporate" taxes will hurt the CEO's bottom line, you're only fooling yourself.

The ONLY people who actually pay taxes are the ones at the bottom...the consumers....who have nobody else to pass that expense on to. Everybody else just acts as a middle man collecting tax revenue from their customer and passing it on to the government.

And of course we can note how the Canadian government has lowered corporate taxes to improve the competitive edge for companies base in Canada.
