Is There Anything Good About Covenant?

The only good thing I can say about Covenant, is that you will get quite an education and experience. I drove for them for a little over a year, in that time, I ran team dryand reefer,solo reefer and solo regional (drybox). I had weeks where we (team) ran barely 2k miles, others where we ran 6k+( I ran 3.5k miles in 6 days one week as well). So the miles are there, the equipment isn't all bad, unless you get stuck with an old trlr.

Like I said, my time at covenant showed me just what I don't want in a company, and what kinds of things to lookout for.

 

MY wife and I started are driving career with them and were there about 2 years. We had a good experience with them. Like any big company I think your dispatcher has alot to do with your experience, a good one is worth their weight in gold. We averaged about 5500 a week on the general board then got on their Georgia Pacific dedicated account 99.99% drop and hook and literally as many miles as you could run. One thing I will say that impressed me with this company is we had 2 emergency's while with them, my father passed away, sent a Q-comm message to my dispatch and within 5 minutes a lady from their driver relations dept called and told us to find the first safe place to park the truck and they were going to put us on a plane including our dog. Well we were in Kentucky and needed to get to Michigan so we told them we could just drive if they could find someone to take our load in route witch they did. The other really wasn't an emergency but told them we needed to get back home asap. We were in AL at the time they had our load repowered and us reloaded and back home in CO in less than 24 hours.

That's our experience with them your mileage may vary.

 

You get lots of rest, as a solo.

And, if you're the religous type. You get preached to. Just go to one of the meetings in Chattanooga.
