USA Truck ( Never Go Home )

Haha ... Well They are supposed to be.
I just always thought that Those Were the Biggest and Best To Work For.

I worked for those 2 and it was a disaster and I could never make nothing.
For 7 Days of work.. And Away From home.. If I worked As Hard As I Could.. I could bring home around 500 or close to it. If it was a normal week for me .. I would bring home around 350 or So...

People in Construction bring home 500 Per Week and they are home every night And Every Weekend. I know a guy who is working construction... and has been for 20 years and he doubles my pay! The people who just start out in construction with no experience make more than I did in Trucking!

 

Usa did give me 1 Month off and I went to Brazil!
In Brazil the trucks are extremely slow and they even have Ford Tractor/Trailers!
The name of the truck was called " Ford Cargo "

But Anyway.. I think that I am finished with the Trucking Industry!
I absolutely Love to Drive a Truck! There is nothing better than driving a big truck!
I LOVE THE JOB ! But after working with Swift And Usa Truck... It took me 3 years to come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no money in trucking. I always thought that they were because people always told me that they made over a thousand a week... but I was a driver for 3 years and I NEVER saw a thousand a week! My best weeks brought me home 500 dollars... and u have to understand...
500 Dollars is not 500 dollars anymore! I mean... The Value of the dollar dropped..
So if you brought home 500 Dollars today... it would be the same as bringing home like.. 350 about 7 years ago or so!

So if you are making anything less than .40 cents per mile.. you are not even making anything.. you are at the lowest pay !

If you are making less than 40 cents per mile.. you are living in poverty and would make more working at ANY factory in the United States at hourly pay! Well , almost any factory! I believe all trucking companies should be forced to pay at least .40 cents per mile!

 

I will never forget the time I was at the shipper and had a load of toilet paper!
The people could not unload me at the time but had an open door. I was told that If I unloaded the trailer That THEY WOULD PAY ME! I was so happy! I had a load of toilet paper and I sent A Qualcomm message saying...
" HEY THEY ARE GIVING ME 150 DOLLARS TO UNLOAD THE TRAILER SO I WILL UNLOAD IT MYSELF! " anyway...

I was unloading the trailer and the people came to me after I got it unloaded and said
" SIR WE ARE SORRY BUT WE CAN NOT PAY YOU FOR UNLOADING IT "

I asked .. " WHY!!! I Thought You Were going to give me 150 Dollars like you said you would "

They said " Your company called us and told us not to pay you the 150 Dollars... but to give it to them and that they would pay me later "

I called and asked... " WHAT HAPPENED ? "
They said that everything was fine.. that they was going to give me 60 dollars for unloading it and I would be on my way!

WOW!!!!

 

I am sorry.. I was at the receiver.. not the shipper!

But anyway.. U get the story! The Trucking Industry is dirty!

 

Yeah I know! I should not have said anything but it is still dirty LOL!

Anyway... U see how dirty it can be sometimes!

I believe that trucking companies should be you 25 Dollars for every 24 hours you are in their truck! I believe it should be mandatory! I am pretty sure that then... You would not have to Literally BEG to go home!

 

I will tell you something else I found out while working at Swift and Usa Truck!
The Computer Program that they use to pull up your truck and look at loads...
It looks like a really old Dos Program but they run it on Windows Xp and so on...

Anyway...
When you call in and you are talking to them... They ask you your truck number..
When they pull up your truck in that program .. for every single day.. there is a comment or remarks box! If you are angry because they are leaving you out on the road and never coming home... or whatever issue you may have...

They type what you are saying in that box! When I took my vacation to Brazil In March my fleet manager and his boss were talking with me and we were shooting the bull... and they were calling me a " hateful A@@ " but in a nice way. I was telling them.. " No.. Im not hateful just sometimes I get upset " and they were laughing at some of the things I had said in the past... and I even laughed and denied some of it...

Anyway... they pulled up some days on the computer by date.. and they were letting me read some of the things that they had typed in that box.. that I had said when I was angry! I was amazed! I was not being counseled or anything.. we were just messing around that day eating pizza... and they showed it to me!

So anytime you drivers get angry for some reason and call in...
ANYTHING U SAY... they are probably typing it in the comments section of your page!
Its on the same page that you see when they pull up your truck in the system!
So not only do they have your qualcomm msgs ... but they type in anything u say when u are angry in the comments section! They type in anything they feel should be worth noting...
