So maybe around $40000? Or not even close? I don't know how it works with a terminal in Brooks? Does that mean that a gut could live anywhere in Oregon and get home time or would you have to live in the Salem metro area or close by. Do you get good home time with them, is one of those drive 14 home for 2 kind of operations?

with may trucking and any other company... you average about 1 day home for each week you are out... you can choose either 48 or 11 western. I looked bend is about 2 1/2 hours away.. yeah you should be fine... I think 40,000 is possible. but the 30's are more practical... not that you should jump ship but after 4 months you could always get on with another carrier. I switched to knight back in 06.... they have what they call casual driving.... meaning I went out for the week and was usually home on the weekends.. sometimes I got stuck out, but thats a nature of driving. with May you will prolly average $550 a week or so after taxes... and thats just me guessing.... when I was with knight I averaged about $750 a week as a casual driver... I had no real problems when I was with may, so thats why I am going back with them. I see no real reason why i cant bring home $600 a week but who knows been gone since 2006.

ok lets say just for math sake that you average 2500 miles a week..... and you got paid .30 a mile... ok well that is $750 a week.... before taxes, insurance etc... you multiply that by 52 weeks in a year.... not that you would be driving all those weeks... comes out to $39,000 a year...... so sure is it possible..... but the home time you are talking about...you just really want to be practical about your decision... with me, no wife, no kids, no house.... so really even if I brought home $400 a week.... atleast 300 is going straight to my account...

Ya I know, I need to be makin' more than that. Probably 700 and up. Families are expensive, but trying to get into LTL without experience seems hopeless. For me LTL is the way to go, better home time and linehaul or p&d make pretty good cash. I'm in kinda of a catche 22.
