I don't know if that kind of terroristic threat applies to 9/11. Telling someone you are going to kill them and saying you have a bomb on an airplane might not get you the same charge.

Just curious, how and why did he threaten your wife? On the phone or in person? Was repeatedly across several days or minutes? People don't normally walk up to a stranger and start harassing them.

You might see it as an act of self defense when there are other avenues you could of took. There are police and protective orders.

I might of done the same thing if he was in my or my wife's face. But you have to understand the employers point of view. All they see is a violent person. Do they really want someone that is going into a profession with todays road rage and pissed off customers dealing with a hot head loose cannon in their eyes??

There are too many clean applicants out there to be giving the others chances.
Has it been a full 3 years since conviction and you are off probation? Get that part behind you and it might be different.

They just started training graduates and it isn't the best company. But they are hungry for northeast drivers. Give Hirschbach.com a shout.

You should of never pleaded guilty. You see now the ramifications.

You sir are a dime a dozen, its always everybody fault but yours. Youre also the reason why its takes sometimes hundred of wasted interviews to find one or two worthy new hires.

You say; lack of common sense and intelligence, but I submit to you. Youre the one that cant get the job...

Answer me this. Why in the HELL would they waste their time on you?

    Not harsh, just reality.

That said, I do believe the O/P deserves a shot as what he did was actually reasonable and it isn't likely based on the circumstances that he would repeat such behavior.

The suggestions to look to smaller companies is a good one, though the sheer volume of applications that any size organization receive could be a hurdle. I just hired (not trucking related) a position and this time around the volume of applications was actually pretty low. In the past though, I've had to go through 600 applications for a single position. When you're dealing with those kind of numbers the threshold for disqualifying candidates is quite lower.

I suppose if this was happening to your wife, if you even have one, you would just tuck your little tail between your legs and run away. I have only been looking for a week and I know sooner or later, someone will look at my qualifications instead of exercising the simple-minded, short-sighted, unintelligent views you possess, sir. As if you never did anything wrong in your life, right? Just another hypocrite in a world of many!!

It happened, now you have top deal with it - it won't be as easy as everyone else has it... you have to make up your mind and push forward, get your documentation in hand.

Best scenario, as has already been suggested, is to take your info to a local company, explain yourself, then sell yourself.

It was in person because a couple of years before, she was not interested in the piece of trash. And no I do not understand the employer's position. I thought NO FELONIES meant NO FELONIES not misdemeanors plus this happened one time and had nothing to do with driving. I pled guilty so that my wife would not have to go through a trial and see that piece of sh** again. But thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it and take care!

It comes in when I am just as qualified if not more than other applicants and get turned down for something that has nothing to do with driving.

But you're not just as qualified, and I'm not hacking on you, just being serious and honest.

If an employer has 300 applicants with nothing in their criminal history, and you have something there, that makes you less qualified. How you overcome that is up to you, and it isn't discrimination in any form, it's just life.

Ronin, so you are saying that I am less qualified than someone with DUI's, accidents, felonies, tickets, suspensions, etc as long as they did not protect their wife like I did? Also, if they have so many applicants why are so many companies looking for drivers? I do respect your opinion. I just do not nor will I never understand how my qualifications or my CDL license is less worthy than someone else's. I mean if this happened after I was employed, I bet I would not have the same problem, right?
