Have a look at the video.

You're only getting half the applied pressure on the foot valve to the limit valve.

    The Challenger Thanks this.

:biggrin_2559:Changed the road feel for the driver!!! No kiddin'!!! So, that explains exactly what I felt on the T6, and the one T8. Now on the one I drove the other day, and judging by the video, I wonder if there might be a problem with that valve, since it feels the same, even with a trailer.

Interesting for sure, I had zero idea of this.
    Thanks PrairieBoy.:biggrin_25525:

You're welcome. Keep the link because a lot of Mechanics don't even have a clue that the valve exists on some trucks.

Another thought I had is you are used to your Star that has the brake pedal suspended form the valve. The Kws have them on the floor. You have alot less leverage on a Kw. So to get the same air pressure at the chambers you need more pressure with your foot. Now that I think about it my driver, who drives a Volvo, complains of that when he drives my truck. But if he is in a day or two he doesnt say any more about it.

Ya, that may be it. I know when I was in the T8, sometimes I looked to make sure I was really on the brake:biggrin_2559: Just to be safe though, I'll talk with the other driver, and maybe get this in the shop. It's sounding like it may be myself though.
Still, I got some good info out of this from you guys.:biggrin_25525:

LOL I was just going to ask him if the star car had hung pedals or floor mounted. But I didn't want to sound like a smart ###. :biggrin_25525:

Years ago, I drove an old Bud Meyer T6 that wouldn't stop for anything bobtail. Learn something new everyday.

I have always noticed this same problem, but it was never brand specific, I have never had a truck that has ABS stop well without a trailer on.

I was just going to add that if the linings have been replaced recently, they may have went with a cheaper lining. There are different levels of aggresiveness of the brake linings.
