Dude if I called it must have been a butt dial. Not that I would not want to talk but I have either been driving or watching my instructor drive. We have been pushing hard. We planned this trip with tonight's break as we both were tired and this puts us at the drop and ready for the load tomorrow with my clock open ready to run hard.
Glad to hear it is going well. I got denver rush hour my first day. when the trafic let up a bit the contruction started Then the monsoon hit. I was about to give it over to the instrucor when ur exit came up. took the ramp a little quick and hopped the curb on the turn. Told him sorry my adrenaline is a little high. He took it in stride and told me to breath and relax and let the truck do the work. Pulled into the walmart DC plan was for him to take over there but it was slow so I got to back the trailer for the drop then go pick out a trailer for the hook. This was my first day. He took it from there as we had to get the trailer washed and he wasn't sure where that was. Glad for that as it was a tight one (behind johnsons corner in denver for those of you who know)
We might test around the same time. txt me and when not driving I'll reply. best of luck man keep learning.

Hey Seebs! Havent had a chance to update you lately, been kind of hectic for me. I started PSD last week and did pretty well. But shortly after I got here I found out I needed my CDL permit and drivers license...I only brought my permit because I lost my license. Well the staff allowed me to finish my classes for the week and then I had to go back to GA on Greyhound (28 hours there and 24 back) to get my license. After spending a weekend on an obviously under-regulated form of transportation (Greyhound gets away with murder with their consistently late buses and horrible customer service), I am back at Campus Inn today to complete my PSD phase. I only need to go my pretrip class in the morning and then head over to the driving pad. I was told I may get an instructor tomorrow or Wednesday. Everyone here and my recruiter have been helpful and accomodating with my situation. They saw I came in focused and serious about the program and were willing to work with me. I am very happy with the decision I made to come to Prime.

Seebs- I get a kick out of reading your posts. I have had my CDl since 1998. I got it since we were always hauling grain. I remember going to the driving school over the boarder into Michigan. I remember looking at that big Cab Over and thinking "holy crap I have to drive that thing" It was much bigger then the grain truck. Well we started out in a huge dirt parking lot, all of us in the super old junk cab overs from the 70's. All we did for 3 days go fowrad and back in between cones. On day 4 we got to drive around and miss things, plus shift into 3rg gear... i enjoyed it and hearing you talk brings back some fun memories. I now am 37, I have an MBA in marketing and have been in operations for about 9 years. But always haul grain on the side. My wife the other day said " you miss it don't you?" I knew what she meant. i miss being on the road and out and about. So I am leaving the office world behind and going back to driving full time. It does not matter what education you have, or if you wear flip flops or cowboy boots, Once it is in your blood it stays. It is you the person that decides what kind of carreer you have in this field..
Good luck out there.. Look for a Quick liner Tanker out there... I might just be me.
Doc -
How does Prime really work? I know a guy who worked there he loved it did the lease purchase on the tanker side he is about the only one who actually was happy there whats the deal?? It cant be that bad.

We have 6600 drivers... the vast majority of us are quite satisfied with driving here.
If you're hanging around the truckstops listening to guys biotch about Prime, you're listening to the wrong bunch. Go out to the fuel islands and talk to the guys who are running... not sitting. -
Have you not been reading? There are lots of happy drivers, myself included...

Gator - Kick ### man. I'm sure you'll do great. Give me a text if you get a chance to let me know how you're doing. I'll be in Springmo next week to Test out.
Dennis - Thats crazy man. One thing I didn't want to do was get back on the dog. Happy you got that over with though, hope thats the end of your troubles and everything positive from here out.
Indian - Thanks for the kind words. I can defiantly relate as those first few days were stressful as hell. Hope your decision works for you.
Iceman - I have met very few people who are upset with Prime. As far as one of the biggest companies out there that also takes newbies, I would consider them top of the list in that category. No other company can compete with Springfield not to mention they treat you #### well while you are with them.
As for myself. Sitting in Rapid City South Dakota right now. We ran almost 800 miles yesterday, myself doing about 10 hours worth. We really didn't think we would be able to make our drop time but we ran hard enough that we were 30 minutes early. Unfortunately the drop point was packed and we didn't get unloaded till 5:30am when we were supposed to be unloaded at 3am.
Finished that up and now sitting at the Flying J down the street. Had a good sleep and now just typing this up before I play some xbox with the instructor.
Going to be heading back to SpringMo next week to test out. Heres to happy thoughts. -
So you're in my ol' stompin' grounds. Wave as you pass by Scenic SD on 90 westbound. But don't wave the middle finger... my uncle might just give you a Lakota "haircut!"

Hey Seebs! Finally on the road! Left Marshall, MO this morning with a load headed for Lake City, FL. Sitting at the TA in Nashville, TN for the nite. Drove for first time in my life today...what a thrill! Drove from Indiana to Nashville...ready for more!
