    Hello All,

I just have a couple questions about Prime's training and would think a current trainer could answer my questions. I have a current CDL and med card and was trained at a PTDI facility back in 2008 (260 hrs of training) and that same year I went to work for a company here in Nashville and trained for 4 weeks OTR and then team drove for 4 weeks. The week I tested out and was going to be assigned a truck, the company filed for bankruptcy and closed their doors. This happened in February of 2009, when all the economic issues were hitting the US and many trucking companies were under a hiring freeze. I was offered a local job unrelated to trucking and was happy to have the opportunity. I now would like to continue the process of becoming a driver and eventual truck owner.

1.) Where would I fall into Primes training program? how many weeks / months would I need to be with a trainer prior to getting my own truck? Would I need to pay anything for refresher training?

2.) Does Prime have many customers in the Nashville area?

Thank you in advance for any input.

My guess is that they will want a refresher course, which they don't offer and will cost you money.

I have heard of guys given the option to start from scratch also. Give up the CDL and start over by going thru the training at Prime.

Yes, plenty of customers in Nashville area.

Of course, the recruitment requirements are fluid, so asking a recruiter will get you the most up to date options available in your situation.

    Thank You U2,

I was thinking they would give me an evaluation to establish a training base line and then provided I met minimum standards, would have me team drive a few months under the close eye of a trainer, eventually testing out after a minimum number of safe miles. I guess nothing is simple, that is worthwhile.
