certainly but this cause lot of air drag especially on this speeds but this will allow manufactures to make longer cab

The 2011 Argosy that is being exported down under and other places has the DD15 with a exhaust particulate trap, and soon to be equipped with DEF system. It now meets US specs, there is no reason Freightliner couldn't sell that truck here.

As you can see by the Avatar, I have had one for 11 years, it is a very profitable truck.

They are not only for export. I have confirmation that you can order glider kits now. I am hoping to get a price . I have pictures. A friend of mine his boss ordered 2 NEW gliders in Canada. Let me see if I can post the pictures.
I hear it depends on what dealer you talk to. I am waiting on my friend to get back to me on the Glider price and dealer name.
    Thanks,
    Deo

as I can see this argosy looks like a COE cab on conventional long wheel base chassis. Here we do this conversion to build BDF truck to haul BDF ore 20' containers, but you got COE Trucktor... and what a reason to have COE on so long frame???? no advantage in maneurability.

IMO, US cabovers are not so good as Europeans. I used to ride Argosy and IMO, EU cabs are better now. Argosy runs too rought.

It doesn't look to long to me .. looks under 244".. Canada legal wheel base in most of Canada is 244".. this one looks shorter like 220 if that. In the USA a lot of Tractors are 240 -260 " wheelbase so the cab overs are shorter. Some carriers use the cabover to allow long over hang loads, like structural steel beams or poles etc. these hang out in front of the trailer and need clearance on the cab etc. A cabover with a little amount of wheel base looks better then one that is so short the tandems are almost touching the cab etc - ie the 160-180" wheel bases. The shorter wheelbases can not scale a load as easy if you have an overweight permit too.. need overall length to get higher weights. If we had some european cabovers here it may be nice. I like the looks of the volvos especially with the 700 hp D-16...
    Thanks,
    Deo

It would be nice to build US specified European cabocer, longer frame lets truck maker build longer cab with bigger sleeper

That blue one is a beam hauler in Canada, thus the wheelbase. I talked to my local Freightliner dealer about the new style Argosy , u cannot get them in the states, those 2 blue ones , being Canada, are considered exports. I guess u could build a glider thru a Canadian dealer, and import it back here.
