Does anyone know of a good local company in central Oregon (specificlly the Bend/Redmond area) but basially anywhere in or around that area that does local runs, that would be good to hire on with?

I went to high school back in the '70's with the owners son, can't really tell you much about the company other than they do a lot of Bend to Portland and back. -
I would disagree. I researched several companies for my good friend and COTC was the one he picked. They do a lot of tarping and have good equipment and they are well maintained. Unlike most companies who have flatbeds, COTC assigns you a trailer with your tractor rather than performing drop and hooks. Also, they have e-logs which means you are always legal. Finally, they keep you busy than sitting. The freight they do is mostly building materials and wood plus coils.

Central Oregon Truck Company is not made up of scam artists. It is a flat bed company made up of people. People who are real, honest, and dedicated. Their goal is to create a company that listens to their drivers. The whole staff is commited to working diligently to have a sucessful company. Part of their sucess, 20 years worth, is because they are NOT scam artists and never rip off a driver.

why do you have to have e-logs to always be legal ??
-
you don't need E-logs BUT those that run illegal ruined it for the rest of us. So now the Government is going to step in a make EVERYBODY use E-Logs in the future. It will be here in a few years.
Just like we use to be able to sleep at a Wal-Mart, great locations, rest rooms and food for your fridge. Well the slob truck driver kept leaving there pee bottles as trash so Wal-Mart is starting to ban truck drivers. So keep your pee in a bigger bottle and empty it in the grass out in the sticks, so you don't ruin it for the rest of us. For the newbees asking why are you peeing in a bottle, you'll find out, women pee in a bucket.
