NO. The definition is told by the FMCSA. Now if you put some explosives on then yes. I drove in NV and they have the most lenient inforcement of druck drivers. You can't even find a scale house in Las Legas. Plus remember that their tax revenue comes from casinos.

No, California does not require pickups to be registered as CMVs. My mom's F150 is registered as a passenger car.
You may register it as CMV if you wish too. But hauling yard clippings down to the local compost center (the things you'll find in California) does not qualify as it being used commercially. -

Maybe, maybe not. But if you don't have the funds for a lawyer to challenge, what are you going to do? I don't think there is a State law preventing counties and cities being more draconian than the State and, since the State gets a cut of whatever fines are imposed, I can't imagine that the State would institute such a law anyway. -
Hey, if someone wants to lose their mind at me? Let them. I subscribe to the DGAF. (Dont give a ....) when it comes to that whole aspect. I mean I drive for swift, I get people losing their mind at me all the timeAnd I know aint no saints in trucking (I sure aint one) But there is just some stuff ya cant let slide....
