Does anyone know why the training miles have been reduced?

Do you think it could have something to do with new drivers being smarter?

Someone in PR is worried about the slipping of the image of Wyoming not being paved over with overturned Prime trailers!

remember the 40K is dropped to 30 afer your instruction phase. But you do not have to get off the truckat 30/40. If you want more time with a mentor you simply stay on the truck or get another trainer. I came into this with concerns about mountains and snow. Told my instructor about that and we obviously cannot do anything about the snow as it is august but when we got a load through the rockies he said here's your chance. He said "I'll demo drive the really bad part through vail and then you can take it from there if you fell you got it." So That's what we did. I drove from Vail to Utah and then through Vegas (rush hour) nothing terrible but it was great experience and leared a lot. BTW we were at 77K to Utah and deadhead through Vegas into Barstow. Though a lot shorter in Texas I hit some 7%grades while loaded at 72K and with confidence made the run. Gripped the steering wheel tight a few times but I felt under control.

All that said I am considering staying with a trainer at least until my first bad (snow/ice) road and possibly a few more. I need to make money but I can't make any dead. I have to look at the long term picture.
