I know that they will need to get you to your home state so that you can take care of your license - so when they do that you will have a chance to pick up your stuff. If its a straight shot there or not, depends on freight - but it shouldn't take too long because of the time limit to take care of your license stuff.

Just finished my training and upgraded on Thursday. Now at home for the weekend and hopping to have a truck on Monday. However, some of the guys I went to school with say that they were told they have to wait for a week to get a truck out of the Fontana terminal. I don't want to have to wait for a week. Someone told me that I can go to WVC terminal and they will have trucks there. Don't know if that's true or not. Guess will have to wait untill Monday to find out. I'm just hopping that by Monday or Tuesday I can start working. $400 a week kept me fed while training but didn't pay alot of bills.

Mine was closer to 3 weeks. You just need 200 hrs of drive time to upgrade. So if you can drive and get a good trainer that sees you can drive lets you, then you can do it quickly and still learn lots. Most of the others in my class there average was closer to 4 weeks had one that is doing 2 extra weeks for total of six because he requested it himself and didn't fell like he was ready and CRS said sure.

Oh ok well that sounds great! Being that your are only allowed to bring minimal things while doing your training, did they get you a load going back through your hometown so that you could get the rest of your things that you would need being solo... tv, refrigerator, clothes ect....?

They do try to - it might not be your FIRST load, but one of your first loadS... at least that's what they did for my husband. He already picked up all our stuff, so they didn't have to route me by the house when I upgraded... and we both trained/tested in CA and we live in CA - so that part was easy :D

Seems to me you are more concerned with home time, than actually making money.. They will let you go home as often as you want, but I guarantee you won't be making any money.

If home time is your primary focus, perhaps you should be looking at a different career.. You do not get paid to sit at home.
