As PAOLDSCHOOL said. The trick with flats is learning to work smarter instead of harder. It's reasonable to complete between 2300-2700 miles a week. The difference is how you feel at the end of the week. I've seen guys start out and burn themselves out in a couple months. Learn every safe trick you can to conserve yourself so you can run for two or three weeks and enjoy your down time instead of feeling exhausted when you walk in the door.....

    Good luck to you.....:biggrin_255:

I remember the bus dropping me off at the gary bus depot, and this was the look on my face as the bus left me there :biggrin_2554:
I had to call this guy up and he came and picked me up in the roehl van and took me to the Gary Inn, which back then was the Inn of America.
I was relieved the hotel was big step up over the bus terminal LOLS !

I remember that too, flew into Chicago, then took the bus to the bus station on Indianalpolis Blvd. Same deal, then called Roehl, and they came and picked me up. That made for a long half hour waiting...

No roehl929, never met him ,I've only meet the trainers and spoke to some of the drivers in the lounge area .

Update : Been here in Appleton since last sunday, learning the Roehl way of moving freight on the highways, and have learn a great deal ...over the last three/four or five days since my last post we've been learning, logging, trip planing, which isn't my strong point , but is a major MAJOR part of trucking, its right up there with safety , coupling and uncoupling, sliding tandems in general and to make legal, getting my shifting smoother , turning the Roehl way (5th gear),etc etc...
Today we went to Marshfield,WI...and did close quarters training (truck stop pull throughs, straight backs, Alley docking :biggrin_25514:my fav ) wasn't bad.. fueled up the truck, hit the scales, and looked at some new trucks sitting in the yard..

Ok Im going too bed gotta be up at 0500:biggrin_2554:.
