Actually you will not have your real license before orientation, unless you are waiting a couple of weeks. NC issues a temp license and mails permanent one to you a week later.. My wife fed-ex'd mine to Conley.

If you're attending FTA you will graduate on Thursday and be in Conley the following Sunday. NCDMV will still be processing your license out of Raleigh, IF, you get to the DMV that Thursday or Friday.

Some of the newer trucks have fridges in them already. I was told today that if I had to go to WVC to get a truck within my first 3 loads I would be able to come back to Fontana and go by my home to load up my truck as long as I had the hours to drive there. So will see how it goes on Monday to see but so far I have seen that CRS seems to try to make the drivers happy as much as they can withing reason.

Puffinsmoke, I think you really need to sit down and reconsider this career. I am not giving you a hard time but like Celtic said you seem to be a bit concerned about home time. If this is so then I can assure you you're wasting your time and money. Celtic is 110% correct in that if you aren't driving 4-6 weeks out you aren't going to make a dime! Also this is the requirement for most companies out there. Newbies don't realize that everytime you go home you mess up your pay for three weeks. On the week going home your mileage slows, while you are home you get no miles, then going back out is slow going. Hence the three weeks. Home time is the number one reason newbies quit. I hope you really consider this.

Well called in 4 times today and only got voice mails. Left 4 messages and no call backs. So will go to the Fontana terminal tomorrow and talk to them in person. Will show up every day untill I am back on the road again. That's the way I am I want to drive and sitting around at home is not for me. Hope I can drive soon.

Freight is getting slow so take everything they send you. I have been here for over a year and have had a problem getting home only once. I normally try to get home once per month but am now going to go for 6 weeks at a shot. As someone else said, you suffer for 3 weeks for hometime. 1 week for getting loads arranged for you to get there, 1 week no pay from being home, 1 week to get you back up to speed. the thing that really sucks about the week back is it seems that the hours burn off fast and you get nowhere to justify the hours spent. Maybe that's just me.

Iam very much aware of the time that I will need to be out to make money, thanks so much for your concern! Iam asking alot of questions because this is a forum and thats what it was designed for, to ask questions. I figured there would be people on here that wouldn't mind sharing any knowledge that they have, and so far everyone has been very helpful, im trying to get an accurate idea of what im going to be facing with the company thats all, answers any questions you can and leave the rest of to me. Thanks

Well, here I am in Wisconsin with a busted truck. Naturally it happens on a Saturday morning at 7am and the dealership 20 miles away and the dealership is closed on Sunday. Truck will be done on Tuesday.

While you are doing your morning inspection on the prostar trucks, wiggle the fanblade forward and back. It is one of those things that is a national recall (again) and if yours hasn't gone out yet, it may. I am just over 150,000 and that is what will ultimately sideline me for 4 days. If you get a lot of wiggle (1/2") get near a dealer or a terminal and have it checked.

Freight is slow right now. I have been driving for Central for over a year with 100% on-time record. I am broke down in WI and no call from DM. If he had a load, he would call. Continue to talk to them, but don't lose your cool.
