Is Swift That Bad?
-
-
But to many drivers, it's not that bad and was a decent place to start. They moved on with their careers. Others like Swift enough to remain there for 30 years. Some others return after leaving, like I did. -
OK cause I'm leaning towards them. I can go to Central Refrigerated but I don't wanna take the 17 hour bus ride to SLC when I've drove cross country in July to move here to go train with Swift. I'm torn between these two though
-
Just do thorough research so you won't expect more than Swift can offer. Look through these threads well. Look in the company DAC reports threads. You will get more honest information here than you ever will from a recruiter.
For the record, even those who complain have something to offer. Regardless of their negative views, there is a kernel of truth to what they say. Generally, they were the cause of the problem. But, how the cards fell can usually be verified.
It's not a perfect company. None of them are. But it fits me just fine. That's what's important to me.TruckermanD Thanks this. -
Also Swift training is 6 weeks not 7 but I have heard you can get it done in 4-5 weeks.Depends how hard you run with your trainer.
-
I left Swift a couple years ago and I'm looking into going back. I thought the grass was greener on the other side of the median, was why I left.
I've tried a local small company, I've tried flatbed, and I've tried LTL... Now I know first-hand that what is right for me would be Dry Van OTR and with a company that has frieght everywhere...
Does anyone know if you've been out of the truck for 18 months do they have you do two weeks of training or something? I would have to learn about e-logs and such...? -
You may have to take a refresher course. You may have to go out with a trainer for a couple of weeks. Only way to find that out for sure is call and ask.
