The engine serial number and arangement is like gold for parts ordering.

I am a younger CAT trained mechanic and truthfully there is almost nobody that wants to work on these mechanical engines at the dealer. Why you ask? Becasue anytime the shop works on it they have the responsibility to correct the "tuning" that others have done. Not just because of the EPA but because of liability. We rebuilt a 4MG that customer toredown to save cash....90 miles later he melted #6. Turns out he was 8 full turns out on his rack travel.....lots of fuel there!! The liability of not checking and resetting the fuel settings cost our shop a large chunk of money. So why would any reputable dealer put their neck out for a customer to melt an engine down after it "just left the dealer". Granted there is a large area to work safely with but truck drivers are truckdrivers not mechanics. You should have a pyro on that old girl and you could probably tell alot just watching the pyro temp when you are throwing all that cool "black cash" out the stacks.

I will help in anyway I can....but I need the serial number and arrangement number please.

    Heavyd Thanks this.
