So are you saying (just for clarification) that they pay by the mile and hourly concurrently??

Off daily and home weekends. We have a few sleeper runs which leave out weds at 2am and get back saturday evening.

Starting out I have been running 5 days a week, but its not guaranteed. Some guys who start depending on the terminal may only get 2 or 3 days a week or less until they can get a bid run which can take years.

The UPS Freight guys are governed at 65 mph, parcel is at least 68. Fedex Freight is also 65, but the contractors can run as fast as they want.

The pay depends on what division you get into and your experience. I got hired into the special services division which i pull flatbed for a dedicated customer. My starting pay is .40 cpm and 17.40 hr plus tarp and extra stop pay. As far as the company goes it seems pretty decent so far, but a lot of the same bs you get from any other company out there.
