@ SVORAY
If I caught most of your posts, you went to driving school and if I'm not mistaken, your present job requires a class B. Would that company have hired you if all you had was the class B?
My present situation could be different than what a lot of folks are looking for but I am thinking to get with one similar to what you did (or water/vacuum-straight truck) requiring only the B to start with. I gave up my CDL some years ago and of course it is all a new game now. No real feel for how many of those type positions are available.
I was never a "real" trucker however as I was in the sand/gravel and other material hauling business on my own and had small dump trucks and pulled a trailer hauling a tracked loader.
Appreciate the reply if you see this. Or anyone else that wants to comment. -
Thought about doing the same thing. Friend works for company in Aledo/Weatherford area. We worked together yrs ago for Merchants Fast Motor Lines. Says it is pretty easy. boring. He got satelite radio and listens to talk radio and old comedy like Jack Benny, Burns & allen and the like. Working 4 on 2 off or 60 hrs week. Think he is up to about $17 or 18 an hr.
Good luck and take it easy round those curves and stopping when wet. #### tankers will shove you through an intersection. -
Here in Midland that is one company you don't want to work for. Want a day off? Nope you're working seven days a week whether you want to or not. Oh you want air conditioning that works in your truck? Nope you can't have it.
At least that is what was told to me by one of their current drivers. -
I worked for them. My advice is stay away! Truck and trailer inspections are expired. I got pulled over twice by DOT and got 7 tickets for faulty equipment. Just recieved letter in the mail from Court saying I have to pay the fine and appear or they will issue a warrant. Texas Freight told me they paid the tickets and everything was taken care of. The managment and equipment sucks.

Anyone know of Hawg Hauling?? They are a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy. They are hiring drivers down in Pearsall, TX....

Forgive me if I missed it but. The oilfield companies in Texas are hiring inexperienced workers? And they pay good? Union or non-union? You need to have a CDL right?
-
Delivered out there in Midland Tx. a few days ago. Them DOT boys were hopping, I mean they were busy. All local trucks too, no OTR trucks. Seen 9 black and whites, all with trucks on the side of I-20.
And you wonder why some call them Revenue Agents. -
Non union for the most part. For some jobs you have to have CDL. Others will help you get it. BJ Services used to have guys go take it every day at lunch until they passed the written in Weatherford. Lot of jobs you don't drive much. Just need it to move equipment from site to site. Pay is ok. Not what you make in CA, but a $ goes a lot further most places here. Just leave that Pelosi stuff at the border.

Is there work in deep east TX right now? I'm thinking Center, Nacadoches etc. maybe in frac or something like that? I'm looking to leave IL at the end of September and I've always wanted to live in that area.
