-

Should be. If you speak to a recruiter make sure to ask them. Don't worry if you want to run the east coast I am sure they can make arrangements (permanent ones). For you newbies the reason drivers hate the east coast is because there is no shortage of traffic (24/7-365) the distance between shippers/receivers isn't usually that far meaning not very good miles. Truck stops are in short supply along with rest stops. The few truck stops/rest stops that are out there are slam full by 4pm and when your time is up you can't afford to go wondering around looking for a nook or cranny to fit into. On top of that fuel prices are high. The roads are very bad making for rough rides and freight claims. Did I mention traffic? One big rookie disadvantage is that the cities on the east coast were not designed for 53' trailers and even for seasoned drivers it can be hell getting around and navigating one way roads with cars parked on both sides of the street. Last but not least, YANKEE ATTITUDE!!! Good luck finding that one driver that gives a crap what you are trying to do out there.
*Disclaimer* - - This is by no means complaining or negativity, just the facts!
Panhandle flash and 1badz28 Thank this. -
I See now and I can definitely way that the streets and the traffic is terrible. I do like the open West Coast Road though.

This is a little late as for dedicated accounts dole is the most sought after and well paying fleet with an average of 4800-6000 miles a week teams only coors used to be decent now it is horrible they have not been planning very well for it and is coming back on drivers ruining their service records because the dms are not doing their jobs I'm waiting for our loss of that contract I run kraft with Milt as a dm I have never been happier I run out of stockton going to portland, tacoma, or salt lake area loaded and if there is no freight back immediately you deadhead which saves wait time and ultimately gets me more miles especially training when going up and back down can be done in just over 24 hours depending where you go I ran solo on this fleet if you work it right you can get a steady 3000 miles a week and swing by the house once or twice for a night running trainees I average about 4800-5400 a week and am home about twice or three times majority of kraft deliveries to plants are drops as far as getting on different fleets you may get lucky and recover a truck that is assigned to a dedicated fleet manager just depends as for looking to getting on one keep your service record clean and make sure you don't have any at fault osd claims and give it six months you can get on no problem if you see a message for an opening in the time before give it a shot don't get discouraged if they don't take you and shoot for it again when you have the six months
