If it was My truck I would have a wrench in hand now changing it. The PornStar has 370,000 on her now and I doubt it has ever been changed. I'll check the bolts in the morning but since it is a company truck, all I can do is mention it to the shop when I get back to Memphis. Whether or not it actually gets changed is up to them. In a related matter, the air filter in this thing is way past due for a changing and has probably never been changed. It hasn't been changed in the 94,000 miles I've had her and appeared to be way past due when I got her. The shop keeps telling me that if it needed to be changed the PM shop would do it during a B service. If it were my truck I would buy a K&N filter and wash it myself like I have done for all my other vehicles. But that's just me, I have a much higher standard of maintenance than Swift seems to.

If it was me and despite it being a company truck, I would be raising Cain until those filters are changed. If the motor can't breathe, it can't perform. Get them changed and then see how well she does. It'll be like a new truck and better fuel economy too.

I made it to the Lancaster shop and had them change out the Air Filter and the Crankcase Filter and do another forced Regen. I checked the engine manual and it calls for the crankcase filter to be changed out every 125,000 miles or 1 year. I think mine was a bit overdue. Also, when I took the air filter out and showed it to the service writer, he was disgusted and agreed it was past due to be changed.

I'm here for a 34 and will see how she does once back on the road again. This shop seems to be much more willing to actually maintain the trucks than the Memphis shop, or maybe it's just 'cause I'm so darned cute

P.S.- No kicking, screaming, or Cain raising required!!!

Fewe, you wrote these words in November 2010. I wonder if you would recap your feelings in the past year and tell us how you feel now that you've got some experience behind you.

Compare and contrast your feelings then and now, if you would.

Certainly... I still love the job, the mattress is still THIN but doubled up, and the PornStar is still kickin' and my boys still think it is the coolest toy on the planet. For the most part Swift has been a good company to work for and I am glad I chose them to start my career with. Swift has done what they said they would do for the most part, sometimes with a little prodding.
