Spending the night at the Pilot in Jackson TN, I-40 exit 85

This has to be the tightest lot in the country! Every driver is having trouble here! It took me 20 mins to get backed in and I had 3 drivers spotting for me or it would have been longer!

It is nice to see that everyone is out there spotting for the guys as they attempt to back in and nobody has a "supertrucker" attitude here cuz EVERYBODY is having trouble!

I would recommend avoiding this place as I know I will never come here again!

Picked up at the Pilgrims plant in Russellville Alabama for the first time, it was nice to see that they have huge signs along the route to guide you to the plant, I wish they all did that!

FYI they want you to scale your empty truck/trailer when you get there so ya kinda have to go in through the exit.

Easy drop and hook again and this trailer is the first JBS trailer I have seen with a sticker on it telling you where the California spot is for your tandems!

No peep doors on trailers, check temp at stops and as offten as you think, indicator lights.
Set PTA for after your 10, cant do anything with 1 hour.

    Hey bother,

Just completed Orientation and am loving life.... Don't let any unforeseeable events change your destination from J.B.S. Carriers...I have many recent posts on this thread, and threads I've created and ONE very long one on Covenant Transport thread...check them out...
I am getting ready to start one here and transport Covenant thread to J.B.S. thread as this is where I was hired...

Orientation will run 3 to 4 days and you will go with trainer for 8 weeks.... As it was explained to me by Tom C. who is the training guy there, you will be out 4 weeks then home then out 4 weeks then given truck to run home and get your things under a load or at least delivering before you go home......

Orientation was great...I was stressed as they were having problems verifying employment, then my unemployment became an issue on the last day......

My suggestion as it is what I did and I made it.....BRING EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF TO ORIENTATION!!!!! EVERY DOCUMENT YOU THINK YOU NEED AND EVEN ONES YOU THINK YOU WON'T NEED....you don't want to be sent home for something you could have proved by paperwork or phone calls......I worked hard to secure my position here and it was well worth the effort.....

There is a ERGO test which is very detailed and will show anything you may have lied about when it comes to your physicality and your health...

    RULE #1
DO NOT LIE OR WITHHOLD ANYTHING!!!

    TELL THEM EVERYTHING!!

You will be stretched and bend right, left, front, and back....You will have a complete physical and then be drug screened, then your pulse and blood pressure will be measured constantly while you perform strenuous activities which include lifting 30, 60, and 90 pounds... 30, 60, and 90 pounds from floor to waist level and then 30, 60, and 90 pounds from waist to shoulder height.. It's NOT as bad as you think and they do NOT try to fail you.....

J.B.S. Carriers will give you more RESPECT then ANY other carrier and it shows.... You get what you give with this company....

Honesty and Respect will get you through most things in life....

Dan is the guy running orientation and he is funny...keeps it real and doesn't seem to like stupidity but does his best to control himself....He's a great guy.....

It's a little unorganized but that is because they are making SERIOUS changes in order to make J.B.S. an ELITE carrier with ELITE drivers...

Most drivers I saw and spoke to were smiling and that is rare....the ones who weren't seemed to be the kinds of people where no matter what they got it wasn't enough....you know what I'm talking about..

Take this advise and you will be fine...

I wish you the best and want to say that with 12 years out on the road, J.B.S. is NOT just another trucking company....

    GOODLUCK:biggrin_25514:

    Doc,

Don't know if I met you or not, probably NOT unless you were in Greeley this past Mon-Thurs, but I need to let you know something about this post and about GIANT

If it wasn't for GIANT you and J.B.S. would both be missing out on 1 more "Professional" driver both out on the road as well as employed by J.B.S. Carriers.... He was the ONLY one who posted on one of my other threads and informed me that J.B.S even existed and told me he heard nothing but "good" things about them...

I headed his advise and now I'm sitting in KY in a J.B.S. tractor under my first load with them of 2973 MILES.......

This thread is NOT closed to J.B.S. drivers only and now that I am one of them I will defend GIANT as he is the one, who by his sole act of posting on my other thread, gave me this opportunity to work for such a great company.....

Thanks again GIANT!!!!! I got your back lol! :biggrin_25514:
