Maybe on a week where they had a 1500 mile load deliver on Wednesday morning. That consistently, ain't gonna happen.

So what do the solo trucks do for air on their sleep time? what all states will a solo truck run in? trying to make a good decision on a company thank you for your help.
-
Agreed... I was averaging around 2800 (remember that means there's more and less too!) miles per week company solo... of course that was up to a year ago. YMMV.
On the company side in a lightweight with no APU, you idle the truck and run the airconditioner. You also have to maintain a minimum fuel economy level, so that means that you need to get good mileage in order to run the airconditioning - and use it when you need it.
We run all the lower 48 states, and Canada. -
They are installing APU's on lightweight's now. They are the new Rigmasters. These are not the old units. They are brand new, fully diamond plate units. From what I understand, the guy who came up with the Rigmaster bought back what was left of the company, and reincarnated it. Someone said that Prime was actually in on the design of the new unit, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Are lightweight trucks used for local runs? Does Prime have OTR company trucks with APU's
Canada? I never did like runs up there. Can we turn down Canada loads?
Looks like i wont be starting until mid Sept. I still have one duck that wont stay in a row...

Hey, I can only go by what Im told... I saw a lightweight this evening with an APU on it.... The full size trucks have APUs on them too. One month from today I will be right back here for my upgrade classes
FINALLY
-
The "policy" has been for lightweight trucks to be without APUs - since the deal to equip them with a battery-based APU fell through. I think that's because the battery-based APU was a piece of junk - just speculating there. The lightweights I've seen equipped with APUs have been all on the lease side.
Lightweights are used in both OTR and local situations. All of the full-size trucks on the company side should have APUs. They are generally used in either team or training situations. At least that is generally the accepted norm...
Company trucks are "force dispatched." No, you cannot normally turn down a load unless it is unsafe or illegal for you to complete the trip.
Good luck! -
It might have been a lease truck... not sure. I was just on my way to the pad and passed by it.
-
I'm really not feeling the whole lightweight w/o a pass. seat thing I'm going comp. and even though I won't have a pass. on board I still wouldn't mind d seat being there guess it will b something i will get used to

They are putting Tri-Pacs on the small cab trucks now. I was in the shop this morning and was watching them install them on the small freightliners.
