My guess is that either they were too busy to grab him or no one saw it. I've been at a scale and had 2 or 3 trucks on the lot at the same time for overweights or defects we see and we don't have the time to pull anymore in until we get those out of the lot.

Had one the other day that made me think "what the............" On Monday I get a driver that had a 11 hour violation. Put him out of service but wrote him a warning. Thursday I get the same driver speeding and guess what, another 11 hr violation. Some people get a break and keep on doing the same thing. :biggrin_25521:

When an officer gives me a break, I try to show respect:biggrin_25514: by learning from my mistake.
Times in the past when I have been issued only a warning, I remember to be a little more careful when I return to that area:Road:. Would hate for the LEO :tongueSTARS11:who cut me some slack to stop me again. :violent1:

Judging by the length and content of this thread, I'd say more than a few drivers have the 'outlaw' mentality. For those, a warning does nothing but encourage them more. And it's repeat offenders like that that make the Leo's not want to give warnings as much. Just another example of how these 'billy bigrigger' types muck it up for the rest of us. Thanks for doing your part to keep us law abiders safe DB.

I have been about as a big an outlaw:O_o_1PIRATES1: as possible in the past years. Seldom kept a log, waaay over-weight at times, no fuel stickers, same tag for 2 trucks, no authority. You name it, and I did it:dontknow:. Except I always kept good insurance, and had fairly safe:Wrench: equipment . I was not going to jail over a truck:lovestory:, but I did consider it a challenge to try and out-wit the DOT with paperwork. It was like a game.:evil3:Sometimes you won, sometimes you lost. No big deal.
Those days are gone but not forgotten. Now you had better cross all the T's and dot those I's:biggrin_2558:. Too easy for the bears to double check stuff:evil3:. Gets expensive now, not enough profit margin to afford to get caught.:lovestory:
But it was fun back then.

It's a challenge for me as well to find the ones out there doing the same thing.

DieselBear, just out of curiosity, I know there are a great many shall we say perverted people driving truck, how often do you catch them "in the act?"

I have heard a lot of stories of people doing some rather inappropriate things behind the wheel, I really wonder how many actually get caught.

When I teamed briefly with a guy who became an ex-boyfriend in fairly short order (because we tried to team) we kept getting passed by this same old geezer in a luxury motor home. He'd get in front of us and slow down. Each time we went past him, he would stare at me like I had three eyes and blue hair. This went on and on. Pass me-pass ya. We finally got tired of the game. The next time we passed the old bugger, I was on my knees between the seats just kind of leaning forward as if participating in a particular adult behavior.

Since I had my back turned, I didn't see what happened, but the description of the events went something like this: The old feller's eyes bugged out, he almost made a gainer for the shoulder, recovered the RV, swerved a few times and then slacked off it by about 10mph. We never saw him again.
