Yes, on the new freightliners, as of a few weeks ago, if you stop at ANY terminal they are supposed to pull it in to lube the s-cams. It was not done at the factory and has caused brakes to lock up and even a number of fires. Takes a couple of hours.

    transportHER Thanks this.

So this problem should have been taken care of in Tunnel Hill when I was there for 4 days and it should have been taken care of in Markham when they fixed the brakes and we were there overnight (plus the 3 trips in and out while running in and out of Chicago).......Praise the Lord we did not have a breakdown or a fire.......hopefully it can be fixed in a few hours tomorrow.

Ron and I made our decision to go with US Xpress. It was not a difficult decision. After research and paying attention to how drivers are treated on this forum, the choice was simple. Now, Hazmat fingerprints, getting that shiny new CDL license and off we go to orientation! Already said MY prayer for the "best" trainer. Goodness, I'm alley docking in my dreams.

Hey Anna, Regarding the recall on the S cams... is USX pulling the trucks that have the recall and making sure this issue is taken care of or would this be something that we should address at orientation? Or at our truck assignment? I would want to make sure this was addressed BEFORE we hit the road. Thanks in advance. Rhonda

Based on my knowledge, No, they are not pulling the trucks in........they are supposed to be doing them when the trucks are at the terminal.........which is why I'm confused as to why mine wasn't taken care of in Tunnel Hill because you check in, your pass has to be stamped by the shop (at which time they check the computer to see if you need a PM or anything), plus my truck had to have it's pigtail replaced so it was in the shop.

Yes, no idea why it was not done. I am sure they would not assign a new truck without fixing it first. This is one of the reasons it has taken 6 days to fix our truck. Between the Freightliner fix and getting all of the Volvos off the road, the shop is swamped. Took 2 1/2 days before they evengot it pulled in.

BILLY JACK if it's a recall you CAN take it to the dealer.....

ANNA 1st call bd and ask them about the recall (when it came out...?) if it came out before you were in the shop any of the shops, if so call the shop supervisor at each of the shops and ask WHY they didn't do a SAFETY RECALL when you were their. they need to know if their people are not doing their job. and i can beleave that little pi$$ ant service writer at markham would just blow it off....

and beleave me i have my reasons for calling him that...

transportHER thay will have them all fixed in less the a month, anytime someone comes in for service, oil change, and what not.
