The gov't has this printable chart I've been using along with GuysLady's posts with the coordinates. It's kind of fun to keep up with the tracking.
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/AT_Track_chart.pdfGuysLady Thanks this. -
Well Kittyfoot is parked for the night about 90 miles west of Charleston SC. He is not supposed to deliver until 9am but he plans on getting up at 4am and heading to the customer. Maybe they will get him unloaded sooner so he can haul butt out of there. I talked to him awhile ago and dispatch says that they checked with the customer and that they will be open. Not sure I believe dispatch!!!!
Bonnie... It looks to me also that SC will get more of the storm then they are saying at this time. I for one have not seen that "northward" turn happen yet!
Just like Kid Cardic says...... I am quite familiar with hurricanes being from SE Louisiana. Katrina and Gustave were horrid and we were on the west side of the storm.
I just hope and pray that all truckers stay safe!!!GuysLady Thanks this. -
This is going to make a mess...
-
They just said on the weather channel that ALL NYC TRANSIT SYSTEMS will be shut down. Didnt catch when that was suppose to happen.
-
Glad I'm not working for my old boss doing all that NYC stuff, thats going to be a MESS!

Looking at a regular weather map, there is a stationary low front sitting over eastern TN to western VA to western PA. That will help turn it north.
That might be a bad thing as a direct hit on a southern state would be alot better than it raking the populated east coast. This one is going to cause alot of damage.
It's alot similar to Hurricane Agnes in 1972 if anyone remembers that one. I lived about an hour west of Philadelphia then and we had 6 foot of water in our basement.
I can't get ahold of my brother who lives in Dapfunka? VA where the Food Lion DC is. They are going to get a direct hit. -
Well I am aware of the stationary front but that has not turned the storm yet.
I wish nobody would have to deal with this! Not the southern states nor the more populated northern states! -
Me neither. I wish nobody has to deal with it, but it is what it is. Posting you are against it ain't gonna make it go away.

Now if you had a choice between the two would you rather hit 1 million people or 70 million people? There's alot of people between Roanoke and NYC.
I just watched the latest news, they said it should be a level 2 by VA and a level 1 by NYC. So that is a little relief. -
I did not say that I was choosing between either places.
I said....
