    update:

ok so yesterday i knocked out my last 5 stops.

Then just like i asked for (on here) I got a load, deadheaded 3.25 hrs to Sullivan, MO and go loaded and made it 30 min up the street for the night.

Then today I drove 698 miles back to conover to drop the trailer where it will be repowered by local in the am, it delivers 30 min from the terminal.

Now i'm at home waiting on a load.

I really miss driving for WS, but I don't miss the crappy pay for the hours committed. I am currently working in Alaska as a narcotics investigator on the North Slope. Crazy after retiring from a cush police chief job in California. Still thinking about driving for WS again, but hear rumors they're going under. Any truth to that?

    um no lol

Crappy pay? I just spent 4.5 days on a LTL load and grossed $1000 from it, then ran another 950 miles, now still have 1 day left for this week, i've grossed $1300 in the last 6 days......

from an OTR trucking standpoint what with the drop pay and stuff included its a good pay, better than alot out there, but in reality looking in from the outside as Dr Lou now is its terrible pay, when you factor in time away from home and hours actually worked..

Thanks for the 411! lol Good to hear everything is OK. AT, that's not bad, but how many WS drivers are pulling down that kind of pay on a regular basis? Most that I know are in the $400-$700 per week range, especially driving out west. Nonetheless, I didn't do it for the money, but because I enjoy traveling and driving a truck. If I had to feed a family from my driving income, I'd have to move from CA to the south. I could probably live more comfortably there. I met a lot of good folks at WS, and miss them. Need to get back Missoula for a sandwhich with Kelby at the Staggering Ox.

    Still thinking about it.

I am not looking att it just now, I did before. I definitely didn't drive for the money, but for the adventure and I like driving the truck. I have had a CDL since 84, but my career as a law enforcement executive and working internationally has afforded me a comfortable life. I have often thought about buying a nice Pete 379 and using it as a daily driver just so I can drive a truck and be at home when I want; however, my wife doesn't agree. :biggrin_2559:
I may just have to give Darlene a call and see if I can work a 6 month on and six month off setup.
